Five years ago this month my beautiful, intelligent and oh-so-talented friend Lindsay and I bonded over our mutual love of food, classic movies and Halloween.
Lindsay made an unforgettable sweet potato gnocchi with a sage browned butter, we watched the cult-classic, Freaks, and shared secrets over red wine.
This weekend we holed ourselves up at Lindsay’s house for dinner, wine and another classic halloween movie. It’s amazing to think about what’s changed in the past five years! We’re both married, Lindsay has two lovely daughters and we’re both nesting in our first homes (or both about to be anyway!)
This year, Lindsay’s dinner couldn’t have been more appropriate for the spooky season… Squid ink pasta with butternut squash and spicy sausage….DELICIOUS.
So many things I admire about Linds – her intelligence, her elegance, her creativity and artistic nature; she has superb taste and a limitless imagination.
I’m so thankful for our friendship and I especially look forward to many more Halloweens together….
